Careers Nursing Graduate Nurse Programmes Graduate Nurse ProgrammesNorthland District Health Board Graduate Nurse Programmes are Nursing Council of New Zealand approved programmes for Registered Nurses in their first year of clinical practice. ![]() Northland District Health Board offers two streams within the Graduate Nurse Programmes. A General Graduate Nurse Programme and a Mental Health Graduate Nurse Programme. Programmes are designed to provide a safe and well-supported environment in which the Graduate Nurse can advance from beginner to competent practitioner. Competent practice is achieved through clinical Preceptorship, reflective practice, critical thinking and diagnostic reasoning grounded in clinical nursing practice to develop the graduate nurse's clinical competence within the Registered Nurse Scope of Practice.
