Dr Nick Chamberlain - Chief Executive Officer

Dr Nick Chamberlain has specialist qualifications in Medical Administration and General Practice. He has previously had roles as General Manager of Clinical Service at Northland DHB, General Manager of Planning and Funding at Capital & Coast DHB, Clinical Advisor and GP Liaison, Northland DHB, and 11 years in his own General Practices. He has clinical interests in Sports Medicine, Geriatrics, and Addiction, and has management interests in clinical governance and patient safety, improving the patient journey, chronic care management, and preventing avoidable hospitalisation. Dr Chamberlain enjoys the challenge of building an effective team that makes a real difference and helps enable improvements in health outcomes for our population.

Dr Gloria Johnson - Chief Medical Advisor

After graduating from the University of Auckland medical school, Gloria moved to Western Australia where she completed training as a psychiatrist. As a specialist she worked initially in an academic post with the University of Western Australia and then in private practice in both urban and rural settings, before returning home to Northland in 2003. Gloria was Clinical Director of Northland DHB's Mental Health Services for four years before taking up the post of Chief Medical Advisor in December 2007.

Margareth Broodkoorn - Director of Nursing & Midwifery

Margareth is well known to many Northlanders. Born in the Hokianga of Ngapuhi and Dutch decent, she was raised in South Auckland.

Her health career spans a range of health leadership, education and management roles, most recently as the community and clinical development manager for Hauora Hokianga, and previously with Te Ha o Te Oranga o Ngati Whatua, the Assoc. Director of Nursing (Maori) with Auckland DHB and Auckland University.

Her professional affiliations include membership with the College of Nurses of Aotearoa and Executive Board; NZ Nursing Council Maori Advisory Group; NZ Nursing Council Competency Review panellist. She is also part of the Tai Tokerau Primary Health Care Nursing Leadership Group and is an honorary nurse integration leader in Tai Tokerau.

Neil Beney - General Manager, Chronic and Complex Care

Neil Beney is a trained physiotherapist whose career has included both clinical and management work. He has experience of working in the UK and Australia and has worked in the public and private sectors. Neil has also worked extensively with registering authorities and training institutions. Previously a clinical director with Northland DHB, Neil also has responsibilities with Allied Health within his current role.

Robert Paine - General Manager, Finance, Human Resources and Commercial Services

After graduating from Oxford University with degrees in Engineering Science and Economics, Robert Paine worked for Deloitte for 10 years in London, Auckland and Hong Kong. He joined the Auckland Hospital Board in 1990 as Finance Manager for Greenlane/National Womens Hospital. He remained with the Auckland District Health Board until 2002 in various senior roles including Financial Controller, Treasurer and Acting CFO. Robert has also run his own Chartered Accounting practice, consulted to the private and public health sectors, and held senior financial roles with Counties Manukau DHB and Waitemata DHB before joining the Northland DHB in March 2007

Kim Tito - General Manager, Service Development and Funding & Maori Health

Kim Tito has a professional background as a Registered Nurse and has gone on to gain academic qualifications in advanced nursing, health management and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA). He has more than 30 years experience in clinical and management health services, including managing national and regional forensic psychiatric services, primary and public health, hospital management and surgical services, as well as Maori health services. He has also been a Board member with Quality Health New Zealand. His special interests include indigenous health management approaches, health economics and population health needs analysis.

Jeanette Wedding - General Manager, Child, Youth, Maternal, Public and Oral Health

Jeanette Wedding has worked in New Zealand health services since 1975 in a variety of administrative, support, and management roles. She has spent most of her career in Northland and has also worked in staff development/training and Equal Employment Opportunities implementation roles as well as undertaking study in achieving a business studies post graduate degree. Jeanette, who is part Fijian, has a special interest in Pacific Island culture and also enjoys rugby, fishing and family activities.

Sue Wyeth - General Manager, Mental Health and District Hospitals

Sue Wyeth began her career in nursing, and has worked in senior management roles across a range of services over the last 15 years. She moved to Northland DHB in 2002 after serving at MidCentral and Counties Manukau DHBs, with responsibility for mental health and addiction services and management of regional hospitals.
