Media Releases Kaitaia Hospital celebrates International Breastfeeding Week Kaitaia Hospital celebrates International Breastfeeding Week
Wednesday, 01 August 2007
Kaitaia Hospital's maternity unit is celebrating International Breastfeeding Week with a competition to win a gift basket. International Breastfeeding Week runs from today (1 August) to 7 August and is an opportunity for health providers involved with mothers and babies to promote the benefits of breastfeeding. Kaitaia business, Shackletons Amcal Chemist, has donated a gift basket full of goodies as the competition prize. To win, all you need to do is come in to the maternity unit at the hospital in Redan Road. A display board at the unit gives information about the importance of breastfeeding, and to enter the competition you just need to answer a few simple questions - the answers are on the board. All correctly completed entries will go in the draw for the gift basket. Members of the community are also encouraged to come in and look at the display, to find out more about breastfeeding. Neta Smith, Operations Manager at Kaitaia Hospital, said: "This is a fantastic opportunity for us to promote the many benefits of breastfeeding, not just for mothers and babies but also for the whole family. Entry forms are at the maternity unit so please come in and have a go - you could be a winner!" -Ends- For further information, please contact: Clare Blackburn, Communications Manager Northland District Health Board Phone (09) 430 4101 ext 3315 |
