More car parking available at Whangarei Hospital

Thursday, 21 February 2008

Patients and visitors to Whangarei Hospital are reminded that more public car parking space has been made available.

Parking provision was rearranged towards the end of 2007, when a new staff car park was created at the rear of the site, freeing up space for the public closer to the hospital.

The new public car park is outside Norton House, and is reached by driving past the main entrance of the hospital, following the road downhill and following the large "Public Parking" sign to the left. (See map)

Brett Attwood, Facilities Manager, said that members of the public continued to look for spaces in the main public car park and were apparently unaware that further parking was available, despite the signage.

He said: "This parking area has been made available for the public to make it easier for patients and visitors to find a space. We would like more people to be aware of this car park and to use it when they visit the hospital."
