New Chair for Northland DHB Announced
Statutory retirement of current Northland District Health Board chair, Lynette Stewart, means she will step down on 31 December 2009.
Lynette Stewart has served the district health board for a period of nine years. Committed to improving the health of Northlanders, she has been inspirational to those who have worked closely with her.
"Lynette leaves behind a strong governance and operational foundation which can be built upon to expand and nurture further health care services for Northlanders and we wish her well for the future, said Karen Roach, chief executive.
Tony Norman will succeed Lynette as Northland DHB's new Chair on 1 January 2010.
Mr Norman has worked overseas for 30 years as a chief financial officer of multinational corporations UK, South Africa, Papua New Guinea and Australia. From 2004-2007, he served on the Northern Community Board of Far North District Council. We look forward to officially welcoming Tony in his new capacity in the New Year.
