The Community Physiotherapy Service provides:
-
Assessment of home environment for mobility aid
-
Education of carers/patients regarding mobility transfers and chest care
-
Treatment to increase mobility to enable patients to access Outpatient Services
-
Treatment to increase functional independence in the home
The staff provide assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for musculo-skeletal, neurological, orthopaedic, respiratory and mobility problems.
Access to the Community Physiotherapy Services is via a written referral form from:
Your GP
Specialist (hospital or private) Allied Health
Other Agency (Hospice etc)
Referrals are faxed to Whangarei central database for approval.
