Physiotherapy Department Whangarei Hospital

The Physiotherapy Department provides a service to Inpatients and Outpatients.

For Outpatient Physiotherapy a referral from a doctor is required, either Specialist or GP.
The Department needs to view the referral before they are able to process the referral.
Physiotherapy Department
Treatments are free of charge, but there is usually a waiting list for Outpatients.

Services provided are:
  • Musculo-skeletal problems
  • Hand Therapy
  • Respiratory assessment / treatment
  • Lymphoedema
  • Hyperventilation syndrome
  • Women’s Health e.g. stress incontinence
  • Neurological conditions
  • Amputees
  • Hydrotherapy
  • Pulmonary rehabilitation
  • Orthopaedic rehabilitation
  • Mobility assessments for walking aids

Hours: Mon – Fri 8.00am –4.30pm
Location: Level 1, above the main entrance Whangarei Hospital
