Orthotic Service

The Orthotic Service provides a range of braces and supports from head to toe, accommodative footwear and foot supports.

orthotics.3.jpg This service is available to all Northland residents and visitors to Northland.

To access this service you will require an orthotic prescription (referral). Your GP will need to refer you to one of the following:

Orthopaedic surgeon (Public or Private) or other specialist (Public or Private).

Hospital based physiotherapist or occupational therapist or podiatrist - note: limited prescribing rights.

Please note: if you are referred by a private surgeon/specialist and your condition is not covered by ACC you will be liable for the full cost of treatment.
Hours: 7.30 am – 4.30 pm Monday to Friday – By appointment only.
Please note this service is only available in Whangarei.
Location: Lower Ground Floor (at end of corridor near the chapel), Whangarei Hospital
