Lynette Stewart - ChairLynette Stewart has chaired the Northland District Health Board since 2001. She is also a Board member of District Health Boards New Zealand (DHBNZ), and has just completed seven years on the National Health Committee and the Public Health Advisory Committee, which report directly to the Minister of Health. Lynette is the Chief Executive of Te Tai Tokerau MAPO.Lynette has extensive senior executive experience in the health and social work sectors, including membership of a range of committees and project groups related to national health service management issues. Lynette is a member of the New Zealand Institute of Directors. Raised at Whananaki, Lynette is of Maori and Scottish descent and has five children and nine grandchildren.
Mr M C (Bill) Sanderson - Deputy ChairBill Sanderson is an orthopaedic surgeon who worked at Whangarei Hospital for more than 20 years, to 1997. He currently works at the Northland Orthopaedic Centre and Kensington Hospital, in Whangarei. Bill is especially interested in hospital management.

She has a background in nursing and now provides support to nurses, mainly in the community, with clinical supervision and professional development.
Daniel BoltonDaniel Bolton is an osteopath and Managing Director of a health facility in Whangarei. Daniel has been studying and working in health care in New Zealand and foreign communities for more than 10 years. He has completed a Masters Degree in Osteopathic Medicine, and is currently working towards a Business Administration/Health Management Masters Degree from the University of Auckland.Daniel's areas of health interest are primary/community health and continued positive management of Northland's hospitals. He and wife Amy have two young children.
Craig BrownCraig Brown is a farmer and property developer with strong connections to local government. A former policeman, he spent 12 years serving as a Whangarei district councillor, including six years as Mayor. He is serving a second term as a councillor for the Northland Regional Council. Craig's community interests include health, employment and education issues; he is a member of the NorthTec Council (governing body) and has previously served on local secondary school boards. He is also a founder member of Lions International in Whangarei.
Debbie EvansDebbie Evans is the Chief Executive of Kaipara Community Health Trust, a voice for the community regarding local health services and needs. She has worked in a number of professional roles within the Kaipara community for the past 14 years. As Chief Executive of the Trust, Debbie has built close relationships with medical providers, community groups, local Iwi and government agencies throughout Northland.
Erima HenareE aku matua, tupuna o te Tai Tokerau, tena koutou katoa.Erima Henare is an original Northlander, a descendant from all of its tribes. He has a deep interest in the health of all Northlanders and has been involved in health for 16 years. He is currently the Maori Language Commissioner, Chairman of the Tai Tokerau PHO, and leads or is a member on several national and local boards and committees. He has his own consulting company that specialises in dispensing advice on all aspects of Maori asset management, tikanga, reo and engagement.
Peter JensenPeter Jensen is a retired businessman who worked in the clothing industry in both manufacturing and retailing. He is deputy chairman of the Northland Regional Council, where he has served for the last 15 years. He is also a former Whangarei District councillor and has served on a number of commercial and community organisations. Peter is especially interested in community care for people with mental health problems.
Colin KitchenColin (Toss) Kitchen was born and raised in Kaitaia and is married to Raina, and they have two daughters, Shelley and Trina. Colin is employed by the NZ Fire Service as a volunteer support officer and has given 39 years of voluntary service to the Far North.As an experienced emergency service worker, Colin is conscious of the devastation that accidents and ill health have on peoples' lives. He is interested in assisting the health system to develop a more collaborative and intersectoral approach. Colin is also a Far North district councillor. Tena koe mo to tautoko.
Sally MacauleySally Macauley holds a range of community roles in Northland, including Deputy Mayor of the Far North District Council (FNDC). She is a Justice of the Peace and the Visiting Justice at the Northland Regional Corrections Facility, and Registrar of the Far North Justices of the Peace Association. Sally is also a Marriage Celebrant and community representative on the Northland Benefit Review Committee. Her interests include health and welfare of the elderly and disabled, and the vital care for people with mental health problems, as well as addressing drug abuse in the community and promoting economic development in Northland.
Tony NormanTony Norman is a Bachelor of Commerce graduate from Auckland University and has worked overseas for 30 years as chief financial officer of multinational corporations in the UK, South Africa, Papua New Guinea and Australia. He also worked as a consultant, developing and implementing recovery strategies for corporations in Australia, Thailand and Singapore.In 2001, Tony returned to New Zealand and settled in Mill Bay, Mangonui, where he and his wife Anette operate a small-scale luxury tourist accommodation and sailing charter business. From 2004-2007 Tony served on the Northern Community Board of Far North District Council, and is currently deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Oruaiti School. |
