Libby has worked as a health professional in clinical, leadership and funding roles in Northland for 26 years. She currently works as Manager of a community organisation, Jigsaw North Family Services, which is based in Whangarei. She is also a newly elected Councillor for Kaipara District Council and lives near Paparoa. Her goal is strong healthy communities and she is committed to helping improve the health of all Northlanders across the region, through sound governance, an increased focus on prevention and the provision of timely access to quality services.
Living rurally and working in health and social services has given her a good understanding of Northland's unique issues that impact on health. Libby has been involved in governance for 15 years and currently serves on the boards of Rural Support Trust Northland, Volunteering Northland, Otamatea High School and Sport Northland.
