Kia Orana.

My name is May Seager and I live in Maungaturoto.  Our family has lived there for nearly 20 years after living in many parts of New Zealand.  We love living in a small town but often feel disadvantaged because of it.  Our family is a mix of different cultures -- Cook Islands, Maori and New Zealand Pakeha.

Our family has had many dealings with the Northland District Health Board over the years.  I hope that our experiences and the lessons learnt from them will benefit other Northlanders.

As manager of the Northland Pacific Islands Charitable Trust, based in Whangarei, I come into contact with many Pacific Islanders so I hope that the knowledge I gain can help to inform the Northland DHB and vice-versa.
