Normal visiting hours are back in place at our hospitals as the country adjusts to life in Alert Level 1.

Our sincere thanks to you all for respecting our visiting restrictions over the past couple of months.

Your understanding and patience have helped us all in our fight against COVID-19.

 Please continue to keep yourself and our patients safe by following these three simple rules:

• please observe good hand hygiene (we have hand sanitizers at all of our main entrances) and cough/ sneeze etiquette at all times
• do not visit patients if you are unwell (please stay away if you have a cold or the flu!)
• It’s still important we all ‘keep a record’ of places we have been. Follow whatever contact tracing option best suits you – for some, this may mean using the NZ COVID Tracer app on your smartphone to scan the QR codes at our front entrances; for others, it may be a matter of registering on arrival.

Visiting hours for our hospitals; Kaitaia Hospital, Bay of Islands Hospital and Dargaville and Whangarei are 11am-8pm.

• Some departments including the Children’s Ward and specialist care units at Whangarei Hospital have different visiting times click here to double check.
• Parking charges also apply at Whangarei Hospital during business hours.
