All shuttle services are available for patients Monday to Friday. Shuttles do not run on Weekends or Public Holidays. Shuttle times will vary.
Health shuttles are available for people who may require transport. The service is usually free for people attending outpatient appointments, parents of children with an appointment at the hospital and carers attending with patients.
Up to a 21-seater bus travels from Kaitaia to Whangarei, Monday to Friday. The bus stops for pickups at Awanui, Lake Ohia, Taipa, Coopers Beach, Mangonui, Waitaruke, Kaeo, Matauri, Kerikeri, Pakarakaka Junction, Moerewa, Kawakawa, Waiomio Junction and Hikurangi.
A 13-seater bus travels from Whangarei to Auckland, Monday to Friday. The bus stops for pickups at: Whangarei Hospital, Otaika, Ruakaka, Brynderwyns, Kaiwaka, Wellsford, North Shore Hospital, Auckland Hospital, Domain Lodge, Greenlane, Middlemore and Manukau Super Clinic.

Linking Hands is a voluntary service and they rely on donations to run this service. They have vehicles based in Maungaturoto, Mangawhai and Ruakaka and pick up from Matakohe through to south of Kaiwaka up to the Mata Hall, taking clients to Medical Appointments between Warkworth, Whangarei and Dargaville.

Kaipara Community Health Trust runs a Health Shuttle Monday-Friday (excluding public holidays) assisting people to get to health related appointments in both Dargaville and Whangarei. Our area covers from Ruawai-Pouto-Waipoua-Tangowahine. We have a wheelchair hoist.

Dargaville Town and Around is locally run by volunteers using their own cars. Assisting people who live in the Dargaville township to retain their independence by helping them get to appointments (health, shopping, social visits etc) within the Dargaville township boundary.

Some patients may be eligible to receive National Travel Assistance which provides subsidised travel and accommodation assistance, if they are referred by a hospital specialist and travel a long distances or visit a specialist frequently.
