A 28 Bed inpatient unit providing hospital-level care for people presenting to the hospital. The ward includes a palliative care facility called the Haven.

On arrival to the ward you will be allocated to a room (you may be required to move rooms whilst in hospital). You will be given a pre-admission form to complete and you will be issued with an identification bracelet.

A hospital doctor is available in the ward every day between 8.00am to 4.30pm. After these hours, medical service is via an on-call roster.  There are always registered nurses on duty.

Other people you may see during your stay include chaplains, Takawaenga (Māori Health Liaison), and allied health professionals such as social workers, physiotherapists, occupational therapists etc.
