Visitor to Northland tests positive on arrival back in their home country

20 August, 2020

A visitor to Northland, who spent time at Kiwi North in Maunu, Whangarei on 28 July tested positive for COVID-19 on arrival back in their home country recently.  The person visited Kiwi North between 1pm and 4pm on this day.

The person was asymptomatic.  The exposure to others would have been a very low risk exposure.  The incubation period for Covid-19 is 14 days, so people who were in contact at this place and time, would have developed symptoms before today.

If you visited Kiwi North at this time and have developed symptoms, please get tested for Covid-19.  Information on where you can access Community Based Testing Centres are at this link.(external link)  Please isolate at home until you have your test results.

If you have not developed symptoms, you are welcome to be tested if you are concerned.  Please call Healthline (0800 358 5453) if you would like more advice.
